A doctor is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and has completed a Nephrology fellowship, but is NOT subspecialty Boarded in Nephrology. He qualifies for Consultant-Internal Medicine (because he has 3 years post Int Med Board experience) and Assistant Consultant-Nephrology; once he is Boarded in Nephrology with a year experience he qualifies as Associate. Exceptions are made based on length of fellowship and Department's needs. NOTE: We do not place physicians below associate consultant. Many physicians are western educated and board certified. The provision of care is similar to that of a modern industrialized country, using state of the art technologies including MRI and more recently laser surgery. Most of the primary care is provided through outpatient clinics aligned with acute care facilities throughout the Kingdom. Doctors without Borders, Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF) is an international humanitarian aid organisation that provides emergency medical assistance to populations in danger in more than 80 countries. In countries where health structures are insufficient or non-existant, MSF collaborates with authorities such as Ministries of Health to provide assistance.
